Chia-PuddingPudding with chia seeds

Required ingredients:

  • 2 spoons of chia seeds;
  • 1 glass of milk (coconut or soy milk);
  • 1 spoon of honey;
  • 1 small banana.

Preparation:

We start by warming the milk, adding the chia seeds and mixing well. After 10-15 minutes the mixture turns from liquid to gel like. We add the honey and banana slices as a decoration. We now have a “supper pudding” – an excellent source of essential minerals (phosphorus, manganese, calcium and zinc), which also contains a high percentage of dietary fibers. Enjoy in this healthy dessert.

Required ingredients:

  • 1 banana;
  • 1 orange;
  • 1 pear;
  • 2 kiwi fruits;
  • 1 glass of raspberries;
  • 2 spoons of chia seeds;
  • 1,5 dl water or fruit juice;
  • 1 spoon of honey;
  • 2 spoons of lemon juice.

Preparation:

Add the chia seeds in the water or fruit juice. Give them 15-20 minutes and a mix every 5 minutes. Cut the fruits and pour the lemon juice over them ensuring they keep their fresh color. All we are left to do is serve the fruits in a plate and pour the juice with the chia seeds over it. Decorate with honey and enjoy your healthy recipe.

About chia seeds

Many people consider chia seeds a modern fad, however, they have been known for their health properties for hundreds of years. Many Native American tribes consumed chia seeds as a significant part of their diet. In fact, chia seeds were grown alongside corn in some places in Mexico, according to the (USDA). They we used not only for their nutritional value, but also had medicinal uses as well. They were used to treat a range of ailments, from fever to inflammation.

Since then, chia has been rediscovered, and now finds its way into our puddings, smoothies, breads, and more.
