Lightning Fast Ways to Lose Body Fat

May 19, 2017 by Melissa Bell Leave a Comment

Everyone knows losing weight is more of a marathon rather than a sprint. However, you can certainly speed up the process by instituting a few specific tricks into your daily routine. Keep reading to find out how such things as what you ingest and the activities you do can help you lose weight sooner rather than later.

Drink Green Tea

If you haven’t heard the hype by now, you must be living under a rock. Taking green tea is good for a lot of things that ail you, it’s true. Chock full of antioxidants and metabolic-boosting brain chemicals, green tea fights cancer and speeds up your body’s fat burning process to the tune of about 60 extra calories a day.

Pump Some Iron

If you really want to burn fat fast, hit the gym and become one with the weights. Since muscle helps to up your calorie burn all day long, weight lifting is the perfect activity to rev up your metabolism. Lifting weights keeps your body’s fat burning mechanism in overdrive for up to two hours after you’ve done your last bench press.

Drink Lots of Water

You should always include plenty of water in your daily diet plan. For purposes of fat reduction and losing weight in your face, increasing your water intake by just a quart and a half daily could result in as much as a five-pound weight loss over a year. Don’t like water? Try adding a splash of lemon to jazz it up.

Avoid Alcohol at all Costs

If you enjoy a glass of wine with your meal, or a nice cold beer after a hard day at work, you’ll not be happy with this tip. However, if you want to help your body burn fat after a meal, drink water instead. Alcohol slows your metabolism drastically, so less food gets burned as fuel and more gets stored as body fat.

Eat a Low-Calorie Diet

Calories in vs. calories out is a surefire way to lose body fat. Use an app or food diary to track your meals and exercise, and invest in a kitchen scale to correctly log your portions. Calculate your BMR, or Basal Metabolic Rate, to see how many calories your body needs to function daily; eat at, but do not go under, that number.  Eating lots of fruits, vegetables, lean meats and whole grains will do the trick – be wary of diets that claim fast weight loss, such as the popular HCG Diet Drops diet. These diets cut calories to a very low level , and have dangerous side effects  such as irregular heartbeat, blood clots, weakness, and irritability.

Vary Your Workout Intensity

Working out is great, but for super fat burning results, varying your workout intensity is even better. If you like to jog on a treadmill, for example, try throwing in a short 30-second run every five minutes or so. When you vary your workouts like this, it keeps your body on its toes so you burn more fat. High Intensity Interval Training allows you to burn up to 12-16 calories per minute!

Eat More Fish

When you eat three to four servings of fish (salmon, mackerel, tuna) a week, you decrease the leptin levels in your body. High levels of leptin have been linked to slow metabolism and obesity.

Don’t Skip Breakfast

You already know breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but knowing it and actually eating it are two very different things. You’re busy, but if you want to burn body fat fast, you absolutely need to eat breakfast.

Your metabolism slows to a crawl while you sleep. It needs a wake-up call, and breakfast is it. When you eat breakfast, you jump-start your body’s fat burning process to keep it moving all day. Even though you’re taking in calories at this meal, you’ll burn more over the course of the day than you would if you had skipped it.

Adding one – or all – of these tips into your daily routine can help you to boost your calorie burn and reduce your body fat quickly, and safely. Be sure you are living a healthy and active lifestyle, and the pounds will fall off, leaving you lighter, confident, and energized.
