7 Miracles of Water

December 8, 2015 by Melissa Bell Leave a Comment

From the liquid we drink and swim in, to the steam that eases congestion and the ice that reduces swelling, water is all around us and even in us. Some would add it kind of is us. Water makes up about two thirds of who we are, and has influence all of the processes in our body. That might explain why we feel better when we’re drinking enough of it. To learn exactly how water is helping you check out these 7 reasons why you should go hydrate right now:

1. Lose Weight

Are you trying to shed a bit of weight? Water hastens your metabolism and helps make you feel full. Drink a glass of water before your meal. Cold water is particularly effective since your body has to work more to heat the water, thus loosing you a few more calories.

2. Increase Your Energy

If you feel tired or exhausted try drinking water. When we are dehydrated we often feel tired. Water helps the heart to pump more efficiently. Water also helps in the transport of oxygen and nutrients, vital for the life of your cells.

3. Lower Stress

Around 70-80% of brain tissue is water. If you are dehydrated your body and your brain are under stress. And if you start feeling thirst, you already are dehydrated. In order to lower your stress levels, always have a glass or bottle of water on your desk or while sporting.

4. Exercise With Water

Water acts preventively against cramps and spasms in muscles and also lubricates your ankles. When you are well hydrated, you can exercise more and have more energy.

5. Beautiful Skin

Fine lines and wrinkles are deeper when you are dehydrated. Water is nature’s most efficient skin beauty care product. Moreover, by stimulating your metabolism, it also helps you look fresher and younger.

6. Better Digestion

Together with dietary fibers, water is good for your digestion. Water helps food pass through your digestive system without problems. When you are dehydrated your body collects all water leaving your intestines dry, leading to bowel movement difficulties.

7. Dissolve Kidney Stones

The number of patients suffering from kidney stones, children included, is constantly on the rise. One of the causes for the condition is people drinking not enough water. Water dissolves salts and minerals from urine. By drinking water you save yourselves from the disease.
