Simple Technique to Bring You Relief from Headaches and Stress in Just 30 Seconds

July 22, 2016 by Melissa Bell Leave a Comment

Headaches are extremely common. Because headaches can stem from a variety of causes, they are notorious for striking suddenly and unexpectedly. It can be especially unpleasant when it hits you at work or on the road, when you don’t have any medicine around, and you need relief quickly.

Today we’ll show you a simple technique to get rid of headaches and stress in just 30 seconds, without any medications.

Acupressure is an alternative medicine where one uses the fingers to gradually press key healing points which stimulate the body’s natural self-curative abilities. There are active spots on our body that can be massaged to relieve pains and aches of different natures, and such acupressure techniques are also helpful for getting rid of headaches.

The key point to press on is situated on your palm, between the thumb and the index finger. Connect these fingers to find it — see the prominent muscle on your palm? That’s it.

What to do?

Press on this point so that your thumb is on the back of your hand, while your index finger presses from below, on the palm. Maintain the pressure for 30 seconds, then alternate your hands and do the same for the other hand for 30 seconds. After you’ve finished, your headache will soon dissipate.

Note: Obviously, if suffering from chronic headaches and migraine consult your doctor. This method, while bringing some momentary relief, cannot help with the underlying cause of your headaches. We are currently working on a larger article which will deal with how you can massage yourself to bring relief from different types of headaches: tension headaches, migraines, or cluster headaches. Stay tuned and don’t forget to share.
